Special Memories
  • A wooden plaque was introduced and signed (carved) by all attending STEICAMPers (see in pictures)
  • Meadowlark Marketa wrote a book about STEICAMP (in 1988 or 1990), several copies were auctioned off to the highest bidders. The STEICAMP acronym was included in the book and was wood burned onto a plaque that was also auctioned off to Sidekick Steve.

  • On Father’s Day, the younger STEICAMPers served an over 40’s dinner to let the “older” generation sit, relax, and enjoy conversation and a wonderful meal.
  • Muskrat Margaret received the “owie” award as she attended STEICAMP with a dislocated back, she travelled to Coeur de’Alene every day for treatment.
  • Appleseed Amy received the babysitter award as she was often seen with a little tike-in-tow.
  • Rattlesnake Ramona received the “food pusher” award, it was hard to visit with her because you were usually too busy stuffing your face with her good cooking.
  • Buffalo Bill John brought over 100 bottles of home brewed sodas and beer for all to enjoy
  • Mustang Mark brought his boat, many enjoyed water skiing or just boating around the lake during the week activities.
STEICAMP 1988 Schedule:
  • Monday: Opening Campfire
  • Tuesday: Local activities day (rafting, sightseeing, etc.)
  • Wednesday: Family Dinner
  • Thursday: Family photos, Horseshoe tournament, Kids Activities & Closing Campfire
  • Friday: Pancake Breakfast (prepared by men)
