Special Memories
- Glacier National Park (the most Northern STEICAMP location) was voted to be the STEICAMP 2020 location in 2018 however, it had to be postponed to 2022 due to COVID.
- The “Going to the Sun” road was closed to cars until late in the week. It is usually open by July 4th which is why we specifically held STEICAMP in July (vs. June), lucky we did! Many STEICAMPers were able to walk or bike the road w/o traffic (a unique experience) prior to it opening and/or adjusted their plans to visit Glacier NP late in the week so they could drive up it.
- The Margaret (Steichen) Brush family invited and hosted everyone for a “Tucker Lodge Soiree” … an evening of relaxation, food, drinks and pleasant conversation. It was a lovely setting which is why we also used Tucker Lodge later in the week for our family pictures.
- BINGO – Game on! Lead by Carnation Kate & Honeybee Holly, all had a great time! Diamond Donny ended up winning the pot of $$$’s. Later in the week there was a rousing game of Left/Right/Center where Kamp’n Kevin walked away with the winnings $$$.
- Chili Cook-off – Emerald Emma and Black Bear Bryce hosted a hot culinary contest where everyone (participants/judges/audience) won with various tastings to enjoy. Cottonwood Chelsea was crowned the overall winner.
- Local Brew Pub Event – Hosted by Huckleberry Hannah & Jukebox John, many of the 20-30 something STEICAMPers enjoyed spirits in more ways than one.
- Kids of all ages enjoyed the Kids’ Games lead by Honeybee Holly with Kaleidoscope Kellie leading exciting “Minute to Win It” games — everybody won!
- We held a memorable candle light vigil following our STEICAMP 2024 decision where we honored and prayed for our dearly departed and those with medical concerns.
- We had many uninvited guests whom we did not anticipate. Mosquitoes were everywhere, try as we might there was just no stopping them. But that did stop STEICAMPers from enjoying our time together!
